Denmark launches chemicals rules checklist for online retailers

Denmark launches chemicals rules checklist for online retailers 1 November 2018 / Denmark, Substances of concern The Danish EPA has established a checklist of rules concerning chemicals in products for online retailers. Its initiative comes after a major Echa Enforcement Forum project , which checked more than 1,300 online advertisments for hazardous chemical mixtures across the EU, found over 82% were non-compliant under the CLP Regulation. Denmark conducted a similar exercise recently, which resulted in controls being imposed on 10 products used in the household and on building sites. The checklist comprises seven questions for retailers: are your products legal; are there special rules for your products; do you import goods from countries outside the EU; do you provide visible information on the product brand; are you planning to list any REACH candidate list substances; do you have sufficient documentation for the ingredients; and is your marketing misleading?
